While the older models will get software update, the new versions will get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.
Tata Motors has updated the infotainment system of the Tata Nexon compact SUV. Now, it also supports the Apple CarPlay along with the Android Auto connectivity. The Tata Nexon’s range-topping trims – XZ, XZ+ and XZA+ (AT) – get the Harman-sourced 6.5-inch infotainment system with voice commands function.
While the older models will get software update (from R11.31 to R12.50), the new versions will come with the standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity options. Recently, the Tata Nexon received 4 star safety rating in the latest Global NCAP crash test. This also makes it India’s fourth Made-in-India car to get 4 star rating in the crash test. The compact SUV scored 13.46 points out of 17.00 for adult occupant protection and 25.00 points our of 49.00 for child occupant protection, thus achieving 4 and 3 stars rating respectively.
Currently, the Tata Nexon petrol variants come in the price range of Rs 6.15 lakh (XE) – Rs 9.61 lakh (XZA+ with dual tone roof). Engine setup of the Tata Nexon includes a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo Revotorq diesel unit. The gasoline unit makes power worth 110bhp against 170Nm of torque and the oil burner delivers 110bhp and 260Nm of torque. The SUV can be brought either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox.
