Tata Nexon EV Unveiled; Launch In January 2020
Tata Motors has finally pulled the wraps off its first electric SUV – the Tata Nexon EV. It’s the second product unveil from the home-grown carmaker in December, following the official debut of the Altroz premium hatchback.
The Nexon EV India launch has already been confirmed for the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year (i.e. between January – March, 2020).
For power, the new Tata Nexon EV uses the company’s new Ziptron electric powertrain technology. It consists of a permanent magnet AC motor powered by an IP67 certified Lithium-Ion battery. Read – Tata Nexon EV Will Be Launched In Phased Manner
The electric SUV also comes with a dedicated Battery Management System (BMS) that has been designed for increasing battery life of up to 8 years.

Its power and torque figures stand at 129bhp and 254Nm respectively. One can charge its battery up to 80% via DC fast charger and 100% in 8-9 hours via standard AC charger.

Some of its key features include a fully digital instrument cluster, a flat bottom steering, rotary knob for gearbox, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control.
On safety front, the Tata Nexon EV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking sensors and camera, and many more features.
