It’s the last week when Tata Motors announced prices of the new Nexon EV Max. The model lineup is available in XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants priced at Rs 17.74 lakh and Rs 19.24 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom). Deliveries of the Tata Nexon EV Max will start in early weeks of June. It’s reported to command a waiting period of 4 months. The carmaker received around 200 bookings for the SUV’s long-range version in Mumbai alone. The standard Nexon EV is currently observing a waiting period of 6 months.
Powertrain system of the Nexon EV Max includes a 40.5kWh battery pack and 143bhp electric motor. Compared to the standard model, the long-range version is around 14bhp more powerful and 5Nm torqueier. It’s capable to do 0 to 100kmph under 9 seconds. The SUV offers an ARAI claimed range of 437km, which is 125km higher than the Nexon EV. Despite accommodating a bigger battery pack, it continues to offer a boot space of 350-litre.
A few changes have been made to its floor pan. The new Tata Nexon EV Max is 100kgs heavier than the standard model, thanks to its larger battery pack and additional equipment. The carmaker has also tuned its dampers and spring to manage its extra eight. Its ground clearance, however, is reduced by 10mm.
The new Tata Nexon EV Max comes with two charging options – a 3.3kW AC charger and a 7.2kW AC charger. It takes around 15-16 hours and 5-6 hours to get fully charged via the smaller capacity and more powerful charger respectively. The company says that electric SUV can be juiced up 0 to 80 percent via 50kW DC fast charger in 56 minutes. The model comes with 8 years/1,60,000km warranty for battery and motor.
Some of its key features include auto brake lamp function, an illuminated gear knob with a park mode, smartwatch integration, electronic parking brake, cooled seats, air purifier, upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car tech with 48 features, hill-hold assist, electronic stability program, cruise control, an exclusive Intensi-teal colour and Multi-Mode Regen with four regen levels.
