Tata Nexon EV Launched At Rs 13.99 Lakh; Undercuts MG ZS
The much-awaited Tata Nexon EV has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s the first electric SUV from the homegrown carmaker. The model lineup is spread across three variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux – priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, India. The new Tata electric SUV doesn’t have any direct rival, though it takes on the newly-launched MG ZS and Hyundai Kona. The Nexon EV undercuts both its rivals with a huge margin.
For power, the all-new Tata Nexon EV uses the brand’s Ziptron EV technology that consists of a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery powering a 129bhp, permanent magnet AC motor. The electric motor delivers a peak torque of 245Nm. The carmaker claims that the electric SUV can achieve 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds and offer a range of over 300km on a single charge. The new Tata electric SUV has fast charging capability. Its battery can be charged up to 80% in an hour by using a DC fast charger. The battery pack takes 8-9 hours to get fully charged via a standard 15A AC charger. The Tata Nexon electric SUV also comes with an energy regeneration function. The company is offering an 8years/1,60,000km warranty on the vehicle’s battery and motor.
Features such as a sunroof, automatic headlamps and wipers and leatherette seats are exclusively offered on the top-spec XZ+ LUX trim. While the XM comes with automatic climate control, push-button start, keyless entry and two drive modes (Drive and Sport), the XZ+ offers 16-inch diamond cut alloys, optional dual-tone colour scheme, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a leather wrapped steering wheel and a rear camera. The Tata Nexon EV has been boosted with the ZConnect connected car technology that offers 35 features available range, remote monitoring of charge levels, charging history and nearest charging stations. The ZConnect app also offers multiple features under different categories such as safety, driver behavior monitoring and more. Based on the Impact Design 2.0 language, the Tata Nexon electric SUV comes in a choice of three colour options – Glacier White, Moonlit Silver and Signature Teal Blue.
