Tata Nexon EV (Electric) to Debut in December, Launch in early 2020

2020 Tata Nexon Facelift Spied

The month of December is going to be a huge one for the Indian automobile giant – Tata Motors – as the company plans to unveil two of its most anticipated cars – Altroz and Nexon Electric. ICN is going to be driving both the cars in the same month to bring you detailed reviews. While a lot has already been written and said about the Altroz, this article will focus solely on Nexon EV.

It’s no secret that Tata Nexon EV is being tested rigorously across India and have been spotted on several occasions. In fact Tata Motors has teamed up with Milind Soman, a renowned actor and fitness enthusiast, and his wife Ankita Konwar for an experientital drive in the hills. The vehicle being driven by the couple is almost production ready, and the vehicle looks quite practical for day-to-day purposes at least in the films released by Tata Motors.

Tata Nexon EV Range

Though the launch of Tata Nexon is going to take place sometime in January or February 2020, several of its specifications-related details are already out. The Nexon Electric will feature the company’s Ziptron Technology that  consists of IP67 (water and dust proof) approved battery and motor pack that will have a total of 8-years warranty.

The company has already revealed that the Nexon EV will offer a driving range of about 300Km, if it can actually do that in almost all road conditions can only be said once we test it. The electric sub-compact SUV will most likely come with multiple charging options right from a regular 15 AMP plug and a fast charger. The cost of fast charger and its installation will only be revealed closer to its launch.

Tata Nexon Electric Details

Though it’s too early to comment on its pricing, we expect it to at least cost around Rs 15 lakh. The reason we say that is because of the fact that the company’s another electric car – Tigor EV – costs about Rs 10 lakh and has a much less range of about 200Kms.

That’s all we have now on the Tata Nexon EV, stay tuned to ICN for more updates on this.
