Tata Nexon sub-4 metre SUV has achieved yet another production milestone in the country. The home-grown carmaker has rolled out the 50,000th unit of the SUV from its Ranjangaon plant near Pune, Maharashtra. Favoured for its unique styling, feature-packed interior, efficient engines and competitive pricing, the Nexon crossed 25,000 production mark within 6 months of its launch.
In the latest Global NCAP (Global New Car Assessment Programme) crash tests, the Tata Nexon achieved the highest adult safety score – 13.56 out of 17.00 points – among all models tested across the Indian market. It gets 3 star safety rating for child protection. With such impressive scores, the Nexon becomes India’s safest compact SUV.
Currently, the Tata Nexon petrol models come in the price range of Rs 6.15 lakh to Rs 9.61 lakh. The diesel variants of the SUV are priced between Rs 7.18 lakh – Rs 10.59 lakh. Further expanding the SUV carline, Tata Motors introduced the XZ trim and AMT variants in March and July 2018 respectively. While the former is currently available at Rs 7.98 lakh (petrol) – Rs 8.98 lakh (diesel), the latter comes with a price tag of Rs 7.50 lakh (XMA petrol) – Rs 8.53 lakh (XMA diesel). Engine setup of the Tata Nexon includes a 1.2L turbocharged Revotron petrol and a 1.5L Revotorq diesel motor. The former makes 108bhp with 170Nm of torque, and the latter develops 108bhp with 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
