Tata Nexon AMT Engine Details Revealed

Previewed at the Auto Expo 2018, the Tata Nexon AMT will be available in new Etna Orange colour scheme.

Engine details of the Tata Nexon AMT have been officially revealed by the carmaker.  The company has confirmed that the AMT version of the subcompact SUV will be available in both petrol and diesel engines paired to a 6-speed automated manual transmission. Similar to the manual model, the Nexon AMT comes with Auto mode including City, Eco and Sport and Tiptronic or manual gear selection with Sport mode.

The petrol model makes use of the same 1.2-litre turbo engine that’s good enough for 108bhp and 170Nm of torque. Power for the diesel variant comes from the 1.5-litre unit churning our 108bhp with 260Nm of torque. Read – Tata Nexon Vs Honda WR-V

Previewed at the Auto Expo 2018, the Tata Nexon AMT will be available in a new paint scheme – Etna Orange with Sonic Silver finish roof. Save for the variant badging embossed on the boot lit, the entire design and styling of the car remains unchanged.

While the company hasn’t yet revealed trim details, the AMT version is likely to be based on the range-topping XZ+ trim. That means, the Nexon AMT will be loaded with all the comfort and safety equipment offered on the carline. Read – Tata Nexon Vs Ford EcoSPort

This list of features will include projector headlamps with DRLs, 16-inch alloys with 215/60 tyres, 8-speaker Harman 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and voice command, front centre armrest and sliding tambour door storage, rear centre armrest with cup holders and driver’s seat height adjust. Safety features such as dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD, rear defogger, rear parking camera, front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger and height adjustable seatbelts will be on offer. Read – Upcoming Tata Cars in India

Launch details of the Nexon AMT are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Though, it is likely to see a release in coming weeks. As far as pricing is concerned, the AMT model is estimated to be around Rs 50,000 more expensive than their manual counterparts.
