Tata Nexon, Altroz, Harrier Dark Editions Launched – Prices, Top Changes

Buoyed by positive response for Harrier Dark Edition, Tata Motors has launched the Dark Editions of the Altroz premium hatchback, Nexon compact SUV and the Nexon EV. Adding to it, the carmaker has introduced the updated Harrier Dark Edition. The company has already dispatched the Dark Editions to dealerships and they are open for bookings.

Tata also offers exclusive merchandise that includes #Dark branded premium leather jackets and T-shirts. In order to enhance the convenience quotient in the range, the company is offering a tyre puncture repair kit. Prices of the Altroz, Nexon, Nexon EV and new Harrier Dark Editions start from Rs 8.71 lakh, Rs 10.40 lakh, Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.04 lakh respectively.

The Harrier Dark Edition comes with minimal visual changes. It comes with a new Oberon black colour scheme with a tinge of deep Blue. The SUV also gets bigger, newly styled 18-inch alloy wheels. The 2021 Tata Harrier Dark model retains the dual function DRLs and turn indicators, and all-black grille and glossy black finish on the C-pillar. The cabin of the Tata Harrier Dark Edition comes with all-black scheme along with tri-arrow design on the seats and gear knob. The dark chrome treatment is added to the AC vents and instrument console. It gets Benecke Kaliko leatherette seats with contrasting blue stitching, and Dark lettering on the headrest. Instead of the chrome finish. The dashboard has a glossy black strip. The SUV retains the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the one-touch sunroof.

Powering the vehicle is a 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that churns out 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The Tata Nexon Dark comes equipped with the new Charcoal Black R16 alloy wheels, matte Granite Black cladding and #Dark mascot and Sonic Silver highlights on the body. Inside, it has dark theme with premium leatherette upholstery featuring tri-arrow perforations on seats and door trims. The front headrests have special #Dark embroidery.

On the other hand, the Nexon EV Dark Edition has been painted in Midnight Black colour scheme with Satin Black humanity line and beltline. The electric SUV gets new Charcoal Grey alloy wheels and #Dark mascot. The sporty black finish is also offered inside the cabin as well. There is glossy piano Black mid-pad with premium dark themed leatherette upholstery with tri-arrow perforations on seats and door trims highlighted by EV blue stitches and leather wrapped steering wheel. The SUV comes with iTPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) and its XZ+ variant gets rear seat central armrest with cup holders, adjustable rear seat headrests and 60:40 rear seat split.

The Nexon Dark Edition is powered by a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 110bhp of power and 260Nm of torque, while the petrol version gets a 1.2L turbocharged engine producing 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an AMT.

The Nexon EV Dark Edition features the same 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering an electric motor. It offers 129bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer a certified range of 312km on a single charge. The battery pack takes 1 hour to get 80% charge via a DC fast charger and 8-9 hours to get full charge via a standard AC charger.

The Altroz Dark model, based on the top-end variant, has been painted in a new Cosmo Black colour with dark tint finish on R16 alloy wheels and dark chrome across the hood. It has Granite Black interior theme with metallic floss Black mid pad and leatherette upholstery with deep Blue tri-arrow perforation and blue stitching on the front headrest.

The hatchback is available with two engine options – a 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel. While the former is good for 108bhp and 140Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels is offered as standard.
