Tata Motors Ready For Geneva Motor Show; To Showcase 4 New Cars

Tata Geneva Motor Show

All four new concepts will feature Tata Motor’s next-generation Impact 2.0 Design philosophy.

The 89th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show will begin on 5th March, 2019. Tata Motors that celebrated its 20 years of participation at the automobile event last year, is now ready to preview four new concepts this year. The lineup might include an all-new electric vehicle along with Tata Hornbill micro SUV concept, a near production version of the Tata 45X concept hatchback and Tata Harrier 7-seater.

Tata’s new electric vehicle concept will be based on the brand’s new-generation Alpha modular platform that will also underpin the 45X hatchback. This electric car will deliver an electric range of 200-250km on a single charge, and is expected to hit roads in a couple of years. Tata said that the new electric vehicle concept “will remind you of Tata E-Vision concept sedan” that was based on the OMEGARC platform.

All four new concepts will feature Tata Motor’s next-generation Impact 2.0 Design philosophy. The home-grown carmaker has confirmed that the 45X concept based premium hatchback and Harrier’s 7-seater version will be launched in India this year. While the former will be gun up straight against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20, the latter one will take directly on the Honda CR-V, Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming 7-seater Hyundai Creta.

The Tata Hornbill mini SUV, which is expected to have its world premiere in its concept avatar next month, might have its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The production version of the concept will be positioned against Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming Future S based vehicle and Mahindra KUV100.
