Tata Motors, India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, has announced a hike in prices across its passenger vehicles. A weighted average increase in price of 0.55% will come into effect starting today, across the range, depending upon the variant and model. Prices of all Tata cars – Nexon, Punch, Safari, Harrier, Tiago, Altroz and Tigor have been hiked from today.
Tata Motors claims that the prices of vehicles are increased to offset the residual impact of the accumulated increase in input costs. This is the second hike by Tata Motors in the past 3 months. The company had increased the prices of its passenger vehicles at a weighted average of 1.1 per cent in April, 2022. This is the 4th price hike announced by Tata Motors in 2022. Unlike earlier, Tata Motors has not mentioned any price protection for customers in the latest announcement.
Tata Motors Sales June 2022
Tata Motors maintain its sales of close of 45,000; however, it slips to 3rd position in the list of top 10 selling car brands in the country. The company sold 45,197 units in June 2022 as against 24,110 cars in the same month last year. It recorded a year-on-year sales growth of 87.46 per cent.
Tata Motors sold 14,295 units of the Nexon compact SUV in June 2022. It retains the top spot in the list of top 10 selling SUVs in the country. The company’s entry-level SUV, the Punch also managed sales of 10,414 last month. The company sold 5,363 and 5,310 units of the Altroz and Tiago respectively. Tata Harrier and Safari accounts for 3,015 and 1,869 respectively. The company sold 4,931 units of the Tigor sub-compact sedan in June 2022.
