Tata Motors Aims To Sell 50,000 Nexon EV, Tigor EV By End of 2022

Tata Motors has been leading the EV (electric vehicle) sales chart from the past several months. In fact, the company registered its highest EV sales (4,022 units) in the month of July 2022 against 604 units of the same month previous year. It accounted a YoY (Year-on-Year) growth of 566 per cent. Currently, Tata has two electric offerings – Nexon EV and Tigor EV. The automaker expects that both its electric cars will achieve 50,000 sales market by the end of 2022. This fiscal year, Tata aims to reach 10 per cent EV sales mark.

The company will soon introduce the Tata Tiago EV, which is likely to be followed by the Altroz EV and Punch EV. The Tiago EV will be the most affordable electric car in the country. The model is slated to unveil on 28th September 2022, followed by its market launch. Official details of the EV will be revealed in coming days. Though, it’s likely to come with a 26kWh battery pack offering range around 300km on a single charge.

New Tata Tigor Electric

A few cosmetic changes will be made to the Tata Tiago EV, especially at the front end. The electric hatch will have a differently designed grille along with the Blue highlights, EV badging and new colour options. Most of its features will be similar to its ICE counterpart. The Tiago is currently available with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, automatic AC unit, push button start/stop, height adjustable driver seat, rear parking camera, projector headlamps, 15-inch dual-tone alloys and more.

Reports suggest that Tata Motors is working on electric iteration of the Harrier SUV that will hit roads by mid 2023. The electric SUV is currently in its initial phase of validation. The Tata Punch EV is also reported to arrive sometime next year.
