Tata, Mahindra, Honda To Launch Hyundai Creta Rivals

Hyundai Creta is getting tough competition from the newly-launched Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. In the next couple of years, the competition will get fiercer with entry of new models which are ready to roll out from the stable of Tata, Mahindra and Honda. Here’re some key details of three major upcoming Creta rivals.

Tata Curvv

Tata Curvv SUV Coupe Front

In April 2022, Tata Motors unveiled the Curvv mid-size SUV Coupe concept that’s set to go on sale within the next two years. It previews the brand’s new ‘Digital’ design language that will also be used for Tata’s future cars. The carmaker has already confirmed that the Tata Curvv will be initially introduced with electric powertrain, followed by its ICE version. The latter one will face challenge from the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. If reports are to be believed, the Tata Curvv SUV could be offered with the new 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. More details here…

Mahindra M210

Mahindra M210 SUV

The home-grown automaker will introduce a new Hyundai Creta rival sometime in 2024. The model, which will come as a replacement of the Mahindra XUV500, will have electric powertrain. Codenamed Mahindra M210, the SUV will share some of its design bits, battery pack and components with the Tata Curvv mid-size coupe SUV. It will be designed by M.A.D.E (Mahindra Automotive Design Europe) team lead by Pratap Bose. The M210 SUV will carry conventional SUV-ish, upright stance and offer more practical and spacious interior. It will measure around 4.2 or 4.3 meters. More details here….

Honda Cars India is planning to launch a sub-4 meter SUV and a compact SUV measuring around 4.2 meters in length. The company’s Hyundai Creta rival is reported to make its world debut in the second quarter of 2023. The model will share its underpinning with the new City sedan. For power, it might use the Atkinson Cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The gasoline unit makes 98bhp and with electric assistance it delivers 109bhp. It could also be made available with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 130bhp and 200Nm. The SUV will have a CVT automatic gearbox and FWD system. More details here…
