Tata Kite 5 India launch

Estimated to be priced between Rs 4 lakh – Rs 5.5 lakh, the Tata Kite 5 could be the most affordable sub-compact sedan in India.

After launching the much-awaited Hexa 7-seater SUV, Tata Motors is ready to launch two all-new products – Kite 5 sub-compact sedan and Nexon compact SUV. Both the vehicles were previewed at the Delhi Auto Expo last year alongside the recently-launched Hexa. To be positioned above below the Zest, the Tata Kite 5 will target buyers looking for an affordable subcompact sedan. It was speculated to be launched towards the end of this year; however, recent reports suggest that the launch could take place in March 2017.

Likely to be the cheapest sedan in the country, the Kite 5 could be named Viago/ Altigo or Sway. Similar to the Tiago and Hexa, the sedan has been jointly designed by Tata’s Pune design studion, European Technical Centre (TMETC) in UK and the Italian design centre. The new model is based on Tata’s new “IMPACT” design philosophy, which was first introduced in Tiago. It is expected to come as a replacement to the ageing Indigo eCS. With all-new engine lineup, the Tata Kite 5 sedan (Sway) will be more powerful and fuel efficient that in its replacement. Developed on the thoroughly modified X0 platform, the sub-compact sedan will share some of its design bits from the Tiago hatchback. Read More – Upcoming Tata Cars In India
