Tata Motors has entered into a partnership with Jayem Automotives Pvt.Ltd., a high-performance design and technology firm. Under this association, both the entities will work towards performance enhancement and appearance of series vehicles. Based on the latest series products, these specially developed performance vehicles will serve both enthusiasts and passenger car customers.
The entire performance vehicles development process will be conducted in a phased manner by JT Special Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. Currently, the company will use its Coimbatore facility for design, precision machining, assembly and testing of the vehicles. Tata Motors had announced that all its future products will consolidate only two platforms – AMP (Advanced Modular Platform) and one more. These scalable platforms will be compatible to the conventional range of turbo diesel and turbo and non-turbo petrol powertrains. These architectures will also support the hybrid or full electric systems. Tata’s new passenger vehicle business strategy will reduce the overall cost and complexity of operations.
