Tata-Hexa-Crossover-Concept

We reported earlier that Tata Motors will present the performance oriented Bolt hatchback at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Interestingly, the carmaker will also debut the Hexa Crossover concept in Geneva, which is scheduled to kick off later today. The crossover is a 6 seater, in three-row arrangement, and is expected to present the future Aria.

According to Auto Car India, the Hexa concept will be powered by the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder VARICOR turbo diesel engine in ahigher state of tune. This engine is capable of producting 148bhp of power and 320Nm of peak torque. The new crossover will continue to feature the same monocoque chassis, as Tata Motors has never attempted the uni-body structure on its UVs. The Hexa crossover is expected to go on sale in 2016.

If the manufacturer continues with the ladder frame chassis, the crossover will be offered with the rear wheel drive layout. With Hexa concept, Tata Motors is planning to apply the same strategy that has been used on the Tata Bolt which is basically a re-skinned India Vista. The crossover will get a large grille, flanked by swept-back lights, with strong chrome accents, indicating the new design language of future Tata SUVs and crossovers.
