Tata HBX Mini SUV Concept At Auto Expo 2020
Tata Motors has been unveiled an all-new mini SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2020. Called the Tata HBX, the mini SUV concept is based on Alfa modular platform and features the brand’s new Impact 2.0 design language. The carmaker promises that production version of the mini SUV will stay true to its concept. Though, it will receive some practical changes.
The front end of the Tata HBX has aggressive appeal, thanks to its honeycomb grille, dual chamber headlamps with LED DRLs and a wide bumper with tri arrow inserts. The mini SUV has C-pillar integrated door handles as we have seen in the newly-launched Altroz hatchback. The car also features squarish wheel arches, a small rear windshield with wiper and edgy taillamps.
- The HBX will take on Maruti S-Presso and Mahindra KUV100.
- It’s estimated to cost between Rs 4 lakh – Rs 5 lakh.
- The mini SUV will come with a BS6-compliant 1.2L petrol engine.
- Some of its features will be carried over from the Altroz hatchback.
With respect to features, the Tata HBX will offer a free floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The mini SUV will also come with a digital instrument console, a multi functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, electric power steering and height adjustable driver’s seat.
Aiming to ensure safety, the carmaker will equip the mini SUV with features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, cornering stability program, auto dimming IRVMs and brake assist as standard fitments.
The Tata HBX will derive its power from a 1.2L petrol engine meeting the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The power and torque figures will stand at 85bhp and 114Nm respectively. The mini SUV will come with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
