Tata HBX Micro SUV Launch Pushed To Early 2021

Upcoming SUVs Under 8 Lakh

Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the HBX concept based micro SUV will now launch in the country in the first quarter of FY2021, which means April 2021 to June 2021. The micro SUV was earlier planned to be launched in the second half of 2020, around Diwali festive season. The launch is likely to be delayed due to COVID19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019).

Unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the HBX will be the brand’s smallest car based on the locally developed ALFA modular platform. The concept confirmed that the Tata HBX concept is 90 percent production-ready. To be positioned below the Nexon, the small SUV will rival the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Testing of the new model has also been started. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the production version of the SUV looks similar to the concept model. The Tata HBX micro SUV is designed on Tata’s IMPACT 2.0 design language, featuring split headlamps, flat bonnet, plastic cladding on the doors, prominent belt line and slimmer grille with signature Humanity Line. At the back, the micro SUV gets raked windscreen, roof-mounted spoiler, LED elements in a tri-arrow pattern and compact tail-lights.

Inside the cabin, the Tata HBX gets flat-bottom steering wheel, a part-digital 7-inch instrument console, automatic climate control, and a 7.0-inch free-standing infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, etc. Similar to the Altroz, the mini SUV’s doors open 90 degrees for easy ingress and egress.
