Tata HBX Front Design Revealed; Looks Similar To Harrier

The front design of the upcoming Tata HBX mini SUV has been revealed in a latest spy picture and it appears exactly similar to the Tata Harrier, but in the compact form. You can notice the ‘Humanity Line’ front grille featuring the brand’s logo in the centre, split halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, radiator grille and dual-tone bumper. While the air dam is placed on the lower side of the bumper, the ORVMs are integrated on the A-pillar. The wheel arches have plastic cladding along with steel wheels.

The previous spy pictures confirm that the production-ready Tata HBX will get dual-tone alloy wheels. Though, it could be reserved for higher trims. Some of its key highlights include blacked-out B-pillars, C-pillar mounted rear door handles, high mounted stop lamp, rear washer and wiper, LED taillamps, raked windshield and rear bumper with integrated reflectors.

The new Tata mini SUV will be designed on the Alfa platform that’s already used in the Altroz premium hatchback. It will be the second production model to underpin the brand’s new architecture. Interior layout and feature might also share some resemblance with the Harrier or Altroz. We expect it to come with a floating touchscren infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, an instrument cluster, climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, a Harman audio system, cruise control and keyless entry with push button.

Official engine details are still under the wraps. Though, the Tata HBX concept based mini SUV is likely to be offered with a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine pushing out 86bhp and 113Nm. The carmaker might provide two gearboxes – manual and AMT. The upcoming Tata micro SUV will also be made available with electric powertrain at a later stage. Reports suggest that its production version could be christened ‘Tata Timero’. The mini SUV will see a release in the first half of 2021. It will take head-to-head against the cars like Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Mahindra KUV100.
