The year 2018 has witnessed a range of new cars launched in India. Not just domestic makers, globally renowned automakers have introduced their SUVs. We have already witnessed the launch of SUVs from Audi, Volvo, Mahindra, Mitsubishi, BMW, Hyundai and Land Rover. The 2019 year also promises to be filled with a slew of launches, mostly in the SUV category. Here we mentioned 3 all-new SUVs that will be launched in the first month of 2019 –
Tata Harrier
The homegrown automaker, Tata will launch the long-awaited Tata Harrier 5-seater in January 2019. The SUV will lead the 2019 Mumbai Marathon. It is the brand’s first model to feature the new OMEGA ARC platform, which is derived from Land Rover D8 architecture. Moreover, the Harrier also debuts the brand’s new IMPACT 2.0 DESIGN philosophy. It is powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that produces 140PS of power and 350Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Nissan Kicks
Japanese automaker, Nissan is aiming at premium segment to improve its share in the highly competitive Indian auto market. The company will start its new innings with the new Kicks SUV, which is built on the heavily localised Duster’s MO platform. It will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur. The SUV will be available in two engine options – 1.5-litre K9K diesel and 1.5-litre petrol. Both manual and automatic options will be on offer.

Mahindra S201/Inferno/XUV300
It is no secret that Mahindra will launch the sub-4 meter SUV based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform in the Q1, 2019. Codenamed S201, the sub-4 meter SUV is most likely to be launched in January 2019. The SUV could be called Mahindra Inferno or Mahindra XUV300. It will challenge the likes of Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza. The SUV will be the most powerful in its category. It will be offered in two engine options – 135PS, 1.2-litre petrol and 121bhp, 1.5-litre diesel.
