Tata Harrier SUV Likely To Receive 2 New Variants

The homegrown automaker, Tata Motors is now ready to launch the much-awaited new Gravitas 6/7-seater SUV during festive season. Adding to it, the brand will also introduce the production version of the HBX micro SUV in the end of this financial year. A new media report claims that Tata will also introduce new variants in the Harrier line-up.

The report claims that Tata Harrier will receive two new variants called the XTA and the XT+. The XT+ variant is likely to be positioned between the XT and the XZ variants in the Harrier’s line-up. This variant is also likely to receive a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof.

BS6 Tata Harrier

In the current line-up, the automatic gearbox is offered on the XMA, XZA and the XZA+ variants. The upcoming XTA variants will be positioned between the XMA and the XZA. However, this variant is not likely to receive the panoramic sunroof.

The Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that is capable of producing 168bhp of power at 3,750rpm and a peak torque of 350Nm between 1,750-2,500rpm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

Tata Motors has recently started deliveries of the BS6 Harrier Dark Edition. This special edition is available in 4 variants – XZ, XZ+, XZA and XZA+. The company has also started testing the petrol version of the Harrier, which is rumoured to be launched before the end of this year. The Tata Harrier petrol will be powered by a 1.5-litre, direct injection turbocharged engine, which is likely to produce around 150bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
