Currently, the Tata Harrier comes with a 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that’s good enough for 138bhp and 350Nm. The SUV gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. In coming months, the carmaker will introduce a sunroof and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox on the Harrier lineup. The same transmission unit will be used in the Tat Gravitas 7-seater SUV that will debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The carmaker is also working on the new Tata Harrier, which is likely to receive significant cosmetic changes and feature upgrades. The SUV will continue to underpin the Omega Arc platform and carry the brand’s Impact 2.0 Design philosophy.
Land Rover’s upcoming new affordable SUV will share its architecture with the Tata Harrier. The SUV’s platform is made of high-strength steels and compatible to AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. It can also be configured with a battery pack in the floor bed for an electric engine.
