Tata Harrier On-Road Prices Officially Revealed; Cheaper Than Jeep Compass
Tata Motors official twitter handle reveals that the Harrier on-road price is Rs 16 lakh for the base model and Rs 21 lakh for the top-end model.
The long-awaited Tata Harrier has finally made its global debut in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The company has revealed all the details about the SUV, except for the prices. However, Tata Motors official twitter handle reveals the expected on-road price range of the new SUV. While replying to a prospective buyer on social media page, Tata Motors said “the on-road price of the Tata Harrier is expected to be between Rs 16 lakhs (base model) to Rs 21 lakhs (top-end variant). The cost will include registration charges, insurance, etc.
Going by the on-road prices, it is clear that the Harrier will be slotted right between the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass in terms of pricing. For people not in the know, it is mandatory for all general insurance companies to issue a 3-year insurance cover for new cars. This increases the on-road prices of vehicles. It is expected that the new Harrier will cost between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 18 lakh.

Tata Harrier has also mark the debut of the brand’s new OMEGA ARC, which is derived from Land Rover’s D8 architecture. This platform is developed by Tata in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine with Advanced eVGT (Electronically Controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger), which offers better handling, low end torque and linear power delivery. Sourced from FCA, this engine is capable of producing 145PS of power and 350Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.
The Tata Harrier comes equipped with twin-digital screen. While the one is fitted to a centre console, the second one is situated behind the steering for the instrument purpose. The 8.8-inch touchscreen mounted on the centre console is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, AUX, Bluetooth and USB. It also gets a range of safety & security features like 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, hill hold control, hill descent control, roll over mitigation, etc.
Comfort & Convenience feature list includes automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, electrically adjustable & foldable wing mirrors, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push button start, 8-way adjustable driver seat, rear armrest with cup holders, cooled storage box, etc.
