Tata Harrier SUV is slated to launch in India early next year. Official bookings for the vehicle have already begun across the nation. The SUV, which is currently in its final testing phase, recently went through the handling test at the NATRAX test track near Indore. For people not in the know, NATRAX is the Asia’s largest testing facility specialized for vehicles dynamics.

Tata claims that it has worked for delivering “best-in-class ride and handling performance”. The Tata Harrier also proved its dynamism during tough manoeuvres in the double lane change test and fish hook test. Tata Harrier At NATRAX Test Track

Designed on Tata’s new-generation IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy, the Tata Harrier sits on the OMEGA platform, derived from the Land-Rover architecture. At the heart of the Tata Harrier will be a 2.0L KRYOTEC, four-cylinder diesel engine that’s good for 140bhp. This motor will be compliant to BSVI emission norms, and available with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic. As far as pricing is concerned, the Tata Harrier is estimated to cost between Rs 16 lakh – Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). In the premium 5-seater SUV space, it will take on the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.
