Tata Harrier Is Longer, Wider & Taller Than Jeep Compass

Tata Harrier will be 203mm longer, 76mm wider and 74mm taller than the Compass.

Tata Harrier premium 5-seater SUV from the home-grown carmaker is ready to go on sale in January, 2019. Prior to its official launch, the dimension details of the SUV have been leaked online. The overall length, width and height of the Tata Harrier measure 4598mm, 1894mm and 1714mm respectively. The SUV sits on a wheelbase of 2741mm and carries a kerb weight of 1680kg. The tyre size will be between 235/70 R16 and 235/65 R17 tyres.

That means, the all-new Tata Harrier will be the longest and widest car in its segment. Compared to the Jeep Compass that measure 4395mm in length, 1818mm in width and 1640mm in height, the Harrier will be 203mm longer, 76mm wider and 74mm taller. At the engine front, the Tata Harrier will get a Kryotec 2.0L, four-cylinder diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. This BSVI-ready oil burner develops a peak power of 140bhp and 300Nm of torque. While the torque output of the Harrier is equivalent to the Jeep Compass, its 33bhp less powerful than its arch rival. As far as pricing is concerned, the Tata Harrier is estimated to be priced between Rs 16 lakh (for the entry-level variant) – Rs 21 lakh (for the top-spec model). The Jeep Compass, on the other hand, is available in the price range of Rs 19.93 lakh – Rs 25.24 lakh. If Tata managed to price the SUV competitively, it will surely give a tough fight to the Compass and its other rivals.
