Tata Harrier SUV is scheduled to go on sale early next year.

Interior of the upcoming Tata Harrier SUV has been revealed in new spy pictures. As we have seen, the premium SUV gets a basic instrument cluster unit with monotone lighting. Its semi-circular dials for the fuel consumption and fuel gauge displays seem inspired by the Tata Hexa. The MID unit, on the lower section, shows the odometer and engine temperature. One can browse all information of the MID via ‘MODE’ and ‘SET’ buttons.

While the steering wheel of the Tata Harrier is similar to the other new-age Tata cars, its steering mounted buttons layout and the centre-pad design looks different. On the steering, you will have audio and Bluetooth controls on the left side and a cruise control on the right side. Read: Tata Harrier – 5 Interesting Facts

The light controls are integrated in the indicator stalk. The Tata Harrier gets a dashboard integrated 2-DIN slot that might have a touchscreen infotainment system (on the range-topping trims). There is a multi-drive model knob located in front of the manual gearbox.

Tata might also offer a 6-speed automatic gearbox on the Harrier, which is reported to be borrowed from the Hyundai Tucson. The automatic transmission will be paired to a 2.0-litre Multijet turbocharged diesel engine sourced from the Jeep Compass. The SUV will come with four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.

The Harrier SUV will also be offered with extensive customization options that will be “a first for car buyers in India”. The online configurator will allow buyers to select variant, engine options, colour schemes and different accessories. The Tata Harrier will be the company’s first car to use the new ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA)’ platform.

Initially, Tata will introduce the 5-seater version of the Harrier early next year. The carmaker confirmed that it will also bring in the 7-seater model of the SUV sometime in 2019. The Harrier 7-seater will be put up against the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
