Tata Harrier Gets Expensive by up to 35,000 – New Prices

While the base variant of the Tata Harrier is now 30,000 expensive, the top-spec model price has been increased by 35,000.

Tata Motors had launched the Harrier 5-seater premium SUV in India in January 2019. The SUV was introduced at an attractive price tag of Rs 12.7 lakh. The Harrier has been receiving positive response from buyers, as it is currently the best-selling model in its category. Tata Motors has now increased the prices of the Harrier SUV.

The Harrier was launched with introductory prices. As the introductory pricing period has ended, Tata has revised the prices of the Harrier. The prices of the Tata Harrier have been raised by up to Rs 35,000. It was launched at a price tag of Rs 12.7 lakh for the base model and Rs 16.21 lakh for the range-topping variant.

Now, the entry-level XE variant is priced at Rs 13 lakh, while the top-spec XZ variant cost Rs 16.56 lakh. The XM and XT variants are priced at Rs 14.06 lakh and Rs 15.25 lakh respectively. The price increase comes just before the launch of the MG Hector, which will be the direct rival to Harrier. The Tata Harrier is available in diesel version only. Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 140bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Motors has already started testing the BS6 compliant Harrier, which is expected to be more powerful and cleaner. The BS6 compliant 2.0L engine is likely to offer around 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Adding to it, Tata Motors is also working on petrol engine to power the Harrier. The Harrier diesel will also receive an automatic transmission, 4WD system and sunroof in the next 1 year.
