Tata Harrier Gets 8.8-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System; Audio From Harman
While the infotainment system for Harrier will be sourced from Visteon, the speakers and sub-woofer system will be provided by Harman
Tata Motors will launch the long-awaited Harrier SUV in January 2019. The company has already revealed the exterior design of the production-spec model. Though, interior details are yet to be revealed. The SUV will be previewed to media in December 2018. According to the latest media report, the Tata Harrier will be equipped with a widescreen 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system will be sourced from Visteon.
Visteon is a leading automotive component supplier, which supplies infotainment systems, multi-info displays and digital instrument clusters. This is a global brand, which supplies infotainment screens to some popular brands like Mazda CX-9 SUV and the Ford’s super-duty trucks. The one offered in the Tata Harrier will be compatible with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it feature satellite navigation and reverse parking display. This system will offer better display and faster interface than the Harman-sourced infotainment system. What’s interesting is that the audio feature on the Harrier will come from Harman, which promises excellent sound system. Tata Harrier will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that is good for 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front-wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Interested buyers can pre-book this SUV by paying an initial amount of Rs 30,000 at authorized Tata dealerships.
