Tata EVision Sedan and Altroz EV to be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020

Tata E-Vision Sedan

Homegrown passenger carmaker, Tata Motors is all set to unveil a wide range of new models at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company will launch the BS6 compliant Harrier with major updates and the Gravitas 7-seater SUV at the biennial event. Adding to it, the production-ready Tata H2X micro SUV will also be unveiled at the event. Tata will also showcase its electric cars and concepts including the EVision and the Altroz EV at the Auto Expo 2020.

  • Tata EVision sedan concept is based on the OMEGA architecture.
  • It is expected to be launched in the market in 2021.
  • Tata Altroz EV will source the electric motor and battery pack from Nexon EV.
  • Likely to be priced around Rs 10 lakh, the Altroz electric could be launched in 2020-21.

Tata Motors had showcased the EVision concept version at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show. This model is based on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced), which underpins the Harrier SUV. However, Tata could opt for the ALFA modular platform for the electric sedan. The sedan is based on the new IMPACT 2.0 Design language, featuring upright and muscular looks. It features prominent 3D ‘Humanity Line’ underlining the front grille and headlamps, diamond-shaped DLO running from the A to C-pillar, tri-arrow fog lamps and strong fenders.

New Tata Sedan

The Tata EVision sedan concept that was previewed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, was equipped with an electric motor. The sedan is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in less than 7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200kmph. It is expected that the production-ready model could share the battery pack and electric motor with the recently launched Nexon EV.

Tata Motors will also showcase the Altroz EV, which was first unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is scheduled to be launched in the 2020-21. The electric version of the Altroz hatchback will share its powertrain with the Tata Nexon EV. Though, it will have a different capacity battery pack and power figures.

Tata Altroz EV India

The Tata Altroz electric is expected to offer 2 driving modes – Drive and Sport. It will also support fast-charging option. Design and features of the EV will be similar to the regular petrol and diesel model. If reports are to be believed, Tata engineers are working hard to achieve aggressive pricing for the Altroz EV. In fact, the electric hatch could be priced under Rs 10 lakh.
