Tata Zest and Bolt launch by festive season

Tata Motors is geared up to launch the much anticipated Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback, which were unveiled prior to the recently concluded 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The company has already launched the websites for both cars, which explains everything a visitor wants to know about the vehicles. If media reports to believe, the company will launch the Zest and Bolt by the festive season. The production of these cars will start from June & July. Based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform, the Zest and the Bolt is likely to help Tata Motors to improve sales in the Indian car market. Both the models will be powered by the 1.2-litre Revotorn engine that is capable of developing 85PS of top power and 140Nm of torque. The oil burner will get the 1.3-litre engine producing 90PS and 200Nm of torque. Its hatchback model will sport 1.3-litre diesel engine which will develop 75PS and 190Nm of peak torque.

Both the engines will be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, while the oil burner will also sport a five-speed automated manual transmission. The vehicles get EPAS with active return function and speed sensitive power steering which has been developed by ZF. This model is loaded with features like Harman infotainment system with MapmyIndia navigation, one-touch 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, smart voice recognition, advanced samartphone integration and many more.

The Tata Zest compact sedan will compete against the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and the Maruti Swift Dzire. The Bolt will rival against Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Swift.
