Tata Motors is probably working on Tata Aktiv Cross, which is actually a crossover version of the hatchback.
While the Tata Kite 4 looks more or less similar to the accessorised Zica/Tiago (showcased at the Expo), the former gets a black plastic stripe at the rear below Tata emblem
Tata Motors has been on a launching spree of late, with the latest one being the Tiago hatchback. In the next two years, we’ll see at least two-three all-new products from the homegrown carmaker including the Tata Nexon, and the Kite 5 which were showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Besides the aforementioned products, the company is also working on the crossover version of the Tiago which might be called the Aktiv.
The company gave its hint at the Auto Expo as it had showcased a crossover-ish version of the hatchback – Tiago Aktiv – with black plastic cladding around the body, roof rails and rear spoiler. During a recent media visit to Tata Motors’ pune design centre , the company showcased its IMPACT design philosophy and different products based on it. The Tiago was the first product based on IMPACT, and the upcoming Tata Kite 5 sedan will be the next one. In the slideshow shown to media, the company also revealed a picture of a crossover-ish Tiago with the Kite 4 written on the its nameplate.

While the Tiago Aktiv Cross looks more or less similar to the accessorised Zica/Tiago (showcased at the Expo), the former gets a black plastic stripe at the rear below Tata emblem. Everything else including alloy wheels, black sticker stripes on sides, front bumper and roof rails look unchanged.
The company hasn’t said anything about the launch of the Tiago Aktiv Cross /Kite 4, but this could enter our market sometime in 2017 as the Kite 5 and Hexa are already lined up for this year.
|Engine||1.2-litre, three-cylinder Petrol|
|Maximum Power||83.8bhp @ 6,000rpm|
|Maximum Torque||114Nm @ 3,500rpm|
|Engine||1.05-litre, three-cylinder Diesel|
|Maximum Power||69.04bhp @ 4,000rpm|
|Maximum Torque||140Nm @ 1,800rom – 3,000rpm|
If the vehicle actually goes on sale, it will retain the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel mills that also do duty in the Tiago hatchback. While the gasoline mill is good for 84bhp and 114Nm, the diesel powrtrain produces 69bhp and 140Nm.
Since the Tiago Aktiv will derive its power from the same engine that does duty in the regular Tiago, we expect its mileage too to be similar. While the petrol engine will return over 23kmpl, the diesel model’s mileage will be over 27kmpl.

Similar to other hatch-crossovers in the market, the Kite 4 too could be priced higher than its hatchback sibling. While the Tiago is priced between Rs 3.2 lakh – Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), we can expect its crossover version to start at around Rs 4.5 lakh.
