Tata Nano Diesel; spec, features, price & launch date in India

Tata Nano diesel

It has been a while since Tata Motors has been testing the Nano diesel on the Indian roads. The company launched Nano as the world’s cheapest car which capture the public’s imagination, but it failed to convert this into sales chart. The vehicle has been developed at the dedicated facility in Sanand Gujarat. Tata has tried everything to increase its sales like hefty discounts, limited editions and facelifts, but nothing went right. Now, the company is working on an all-new Nano diesel which company believes will increase its sales in the market.

The headlamp assembly gets black outlines, while the logo is positioned below the bonnet line. The new model will sport few more features and better quality equipment levels. The side profile gets a black line running from the A to C-pillar placed above the door handles. This model will also get the opening tailgate which help in adding to its storage space.

Under the hood, the Nano diesel will get an 800cc three-cylinder turbocharged unit.  The power output is yet to be confirmed, but we expect it to return around 42bhp of top power and a significantly higher torque. Rumours are on rife that the diesel Nano will return an impressive fuel economy of around 30kmpl. It is also speculated that this model might also get an automated manual transmission gearbox.
