Tata Motors yesterday introduced the much-anticipated Harrier SUV in the Indian market. This is not over for Tata Motors in 2019, the homegrown passenger car maker will soon enter into the premium hatchback and 7-seater premium SUV segments. The next big Tata model for India will be a premium hatchback based on the 45X concept. Likely to be called the Tata Aquilla, the hatchback will go on sale in the mid-2019.

The company will also launch the 7-seater SUV based on the new OMEGA ARC platform by the end of 2019. Codenamed H7X, the new SUV will look different than the Harrier and will carry a new nameplate. Coming back to the hatchback, Tata Motors had showcased the 45X concept at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Internally known as X451, the premium hatchback features the brand’s new IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy.

The Tata Aquilla 45X will also mark the debut of the new Alpha modular platform. This advanced modular platform will also be used to develop a micro SUV – Tata Hornbill, and the next-generation versions of Tiago, Tigor and Nexon. The hatchback will directly challenge the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno and the Honda Jazz.

It features a floating-type touchscreen infotainment system, all-black interior scheme with piano black and silver accents, analogue instrument console, flat-bottom steering, automatic climate control, engine push button start/stop function, automatic climate control, 12V socket and steering mounted controls.
