The Tata Buzzard 7-seater SUV will be launched in the second half of 2019.

Tata Motors had showcased the new Buzzard 7-seater SUV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Besides this SUV, Tata also unveiled the production-spec Altroz premium hatchback, Altroz EV concept and the H2X micro SUV concept. Called Buzzard Geneva Edition, the SUV will be launched in the Indian market in the second half of 2019.

Internally named as Tata H7X, the Tata Buzzard is basically the 7-seater version of the Harrier SUV. The company has now released the first official design sketches of this SUV, which are designed by Tata’s Design Studio in Italy. This SUV is built on the new OMEGA ARC platform, which is sourced from Land Rover’s D8 architecture. The company’s new Harrier 5-seater model is also based on this platform.

The Tata Buzzard looks largely identical to the Harrier SUV, though there are subtle changes to keep things fresh in the market. The company has increased the length of the SUV by 64mm, which makes it the longest in the category. The increase in length also altered the design of the rear three quarter and the rear design of the SUV.

It comes with a flatter rear design with wider glass area to create airy feel for the third row of seats. Adding to it, the Buzzard Geneva Edition gets newly designed 19-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloys. On the contrary, the Harrier rides on a single-tone 17-inch wheels.

Inside the cabin, the Tata Buzzard gets 3 row seats with captain seats for the second row. The SUV’s cabin feature and design is similar to that of the Harrier. Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that is tuned to produce around 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai sourced six-speed torque convertor automatic.
