Tata Aria gets cheaper; priced at Rs. 8.95 lakh

Tata Motors has again slashed the prices of the Aria crossover. The entry level Aria variant- Pure is now priced at Rs. 8.95 lakh, which is about Rs. 1 lakh cheaper. The small price tag makes it attractive car to buy in the Indian car market. The Aria crossover is currently available in three variants- Pure LX, Pleasure and Pride 4×4.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder VariCor diesel engine which has been tuned to deliver high performance. This engine is capable of developing a top power output of 148bhp, which is around 10bhp more than the previous model, and 320Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the gearbox is tuned to reduce NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness). It is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 15.05kmpl (ARAI certified).

The top-spec model- Pleasure features the all-wheel drive layout. The entry level models gets the rear wheel drive layout and is equipped with a basic safety and security features. It lacks ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and airbags for both driver and co-driver. By reducing the price of entry level Aria, Tata Motors targets budget crossover buyers and cab operators. Moreover, the launch of new Scorpio could be the reason behind this price cut.

The new crossover features a 17-inch alloy wheels, body coloured rub rails with chrome inserts, etc. Tata Motors is also offering a warranty of 3 years and 1.5 lakh km (whichever occurs first) on the Aria crossover.
