Tata Altroz iTurbo – Mileage, Specs, Features Explained

The Tata Altroz iTurbo will be the latest addition to the premium hatchback’s model lineup. Official bookings of the vehicle have been commenced across the nation at a token sum of Rs 11,000. Its prices are slated to be announced on January 22. The new Altroz i-Turbo will be offered in three trims – XT, XZ and a new XZ+ – packed with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The motor, is essentially a de-tuned version of the Nexon’s gasoline motor, delivers a claimed power of 108bhp and 140Nm of torque.

Initially, the hatchback’s new model is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The carmaker might be introduced a DCT automatic gearbox in the future. The new i-Turbo can do 0 to 100kmph under 12 seconds and returns a claimed fuel economy of 18.13kmpl.

Compared to the naturally aspirated petrol unit that offers 19.5kmpl of mileage, the new turbo petrol motor is slightly less frugal. Though, the latter one produces 28% more power and 24% more torque than the former. Instead of the standard City and Eco modes, the iTurbo comes with City and Sport driving modes. The new Altroz iTurbo comes with a pack of new features including iRA (Intelligent Real time Assist), natural voice technology, What 3 Words, Xpress cool, leatherette seats, personalized wallpaper on infotainment display, one shot up power windows, 2 additional tweeters by Harman and Sport mode. A new Harbour Blue color is available in all variants from 2021 Tata Altroz XM+ upwards. An optional contrast black roof along with the new Sporty Black and light Grey interior theme is offered on the XZ and XZ+ variants of the iTurbo.
