Tata Altroz India Launch On 22nd January, 2020
Tata Motors recently unveiled its all-new Altroz premium hatchback that will put up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Speaking to Times Drive, Tata Motors CEO Guenter Butschek has confirmed that the Tata Altroz will hit showrooms on 22nd January, 2020.
Pre-bookings of the vehicle have already begun across the nation. Interested buyers can pre-booking the Altroz by paying a sum of Rs 21,000. The Tata Altroz is the company’s first production car based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform. The company is planning to expand its India product portfolio with a range of new vehicles including 6-7 models based on the Alfa architecture.
The Tata Altroz was first previewed in its concept avatar at the 2018 Auto Expo. Its pre-production version was showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March. In India, the new premium hatchback from Tata will be sold in five trims – XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O). Engine setup of the Tata Altroz includes the BS6-compliant 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel motor pushing out power worth 8PS with 113Nm and 90PS with 200Nm respectively. All variants of the hatchback will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The company will also add a performance-oriented 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine to the Tata Altroz lineup at a later stage. Its power and torque figures will be round 102PS and 140Nm respectively. The turbocharged petrol engine will be exclusively offered with an automatic gearbox.
