Tata Altroz Hatchback – New Details Emerge

Tata Altroz is 3988mm long, 1754mm wide and 1505mm tall.

Tata Altroz premium hatchback recently made its global debut at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Based on the Alfa platform, the new Tata hatchback is ready to make its way to India in coming months. Here, it will lock horns against cars like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. Prior to its official launch, the engine details and dimensions of the hatchback have emerged on the web.

According to leaked information, the overall length, width and height of the Tata Altroz stand at 3988mm, 1754mm and 1505mm respectively. The hatch sits on a 2501mm long wheelbase. Compared to the Hyundai Elite i20 that’s 3985mm long, 1734mm wide and 1505mm tall, the Altroz is 3mm longer and 20mm wider. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is relatively longer, taller and more spacious than the new Tata hatchback. The latter is around 10mm wider than the former. Tata might offer the first-in-class 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/50 R17 tyres on the top-spec trim of the vehicle.

The Tata Altroz, that was showcased at the automobile event, was equipped with a 1.2L, three-cylinder petrol engine. It might be boosted with a turbocharger and deliver power worth 102bhp at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 140Nm between 1750rpm – 4000rpm. The carmaker will also introduce an electric version of the hatchback that will use a permanent magnet AC motor paired to a single speed gearbox. This battery will offer an electric range of 250-300km on a single charge. It will take 60 minutes to get charge up to 80%.
