Tata Altroz EV New Spy Images – When it will Launch?

Tata Altroz EV was recently caught on camera during its test rounds in the country. While there is no official word on its launch timeline, the model is reported to hit roads very soon. Just so you know, the electric premium hatchback made its debut in its concept avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo. The recently spotted test mule was heavily camouflaged covering most of its design details. Though, one can notice the model misses out on the tailpipe and features taillamps and alloy wheels similar to the regular Altroz. Read – 7 New Car Launches From Tata In 2022

Compared to the ICE version, the Altroz EV has differently styled front and rear bumpers, a closed-off grille, air dams with star pattern, newly-designed alloy wheels with blue highlights and blacked-out section of the tailgate with slightly repositioned badge. The Blue highlights continue inside the cabin as well. The Tata Altroz EV is likely to come with lighter upholstery and a rotary gear selector.

Most of its features will be similar to the ICE-powered Altroz. Its top-end trim will offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, iRA connected car tech, keyless entry with push-button start-stop, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

The carmaker hasn’t yet reveal details about its powertrain. Though, it’s likely to come with the brand’s updated Ziptron electric technology that will debut on the long-range Tata Nexon EV. Its battery size and power figures could be different from its electric subcompact sibling.

The upcoming Tata Altroz EV will be slightly more expensive than its ICE counterparts, which are currently available within the price range of Rs 6 lakh – Rs 10 lakh. Its newly-launched DCT variants are priced between Rs 8.10 lakh – Rs 9.90 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Tata’s new electric hatchback won’t have any direct rival in the country.
