Tata Altroz EV Electric Hatchback At Auto Expo 2020

Tata Altroz EV, the electric iteration of the Altroz hatchback, has finally made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2020. It was first showcased in its concept form at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. In terms of design, the Tata Altroz EV carries the signature humanity line accentuated by dual ultra slim LED headlamps and a digitally inspired lower grille. Most of its styling elements are carried over from the regular Altroz. The electric hatchback sits on a 2501mm long wheelbase, and measures 3988mm in length, 1754mm in width and 1505mm in height. Similar to the Nexon EV, the Tata Altroz EV will come with the brand’s latest Ziptron electric technology. The former comes with a permanent magnet AC motor powered by a Lithium-Ion battery, which is IP67 certified.

That means the battery pack is resistance to water and dust. The Nexon EV is equipped with 30.2 kWh battery pack delivering a range of over 312 km on a full charge.

While the Nexon EV delivers a peak torque of 245Nm of peak torque, it could be different for the Tata Altroz EV. In fact, the battery capacity and range might also vary. The Nexon EV’s battery can be charged up to 80% in 60 mins via a fast charger and 100% in 8 hours via a home charger.
