Tata 45X hatchback will be based on the company’s new Alpha platform.
Recently, Tata Motors released official pictures of the production-ready Harrier 5-seater SUV. As promised, the production version of the SUV stayed very close to the H5X concept that was previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo. After the Tata Harrier SUV launch, which is slated to happen in January 2019, the next big product from the home-grown carmaker’s stable will be the Tata 45X concept based premium hatchback.
The company has already started testing the prototypes of the hatchback on Indian roads. Similar to the Harrier, we expect that the production-ready Tata 45X premium hatchback will retain most of its design bits from the concept. We all know that the Tata 45X hatchback will be based on the company’s new Alpha platform and it will be Tata’s second model to feature the new-generation Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. The latest spy pictures of the vehicle’s production version reveal that it will feature a new set of headlamp with LED elements. Unlike the concept that features sporty five-spoke alloy wheels, the production-ready Tata 45X is likely to get split-four-spoke alloys. The LED taillamps might also be different than the concept. Design bits such as single motion grille, wide central airdam, LED DRLs, sweptback A-pillar, coupe-like roofline and sporty rear spoiler are likely to be carried over from the concept. Official feature and engine details are yet to be revealed. Speculations suggest that the Tata 45X might get a 1.2L Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The hatchback will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
