Going by the teaser images, we expect that the concepts previews the company’s upcoming YBA codenamed compact SUV and the YRA codenamed premium hatchback. While the YRA premium hatchback is scheduled to go on sale in our market in second half of 2015, the YBA compact SUV will be introduced by early 2016.

The iK-2 concept (YRA) will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version gets the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a new 1.0-litre turbocharged unit, and the 1.3-litre Fiat Multi-Jet turbo diesel engine. The compact SUV is expected to get a new 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, which is basically a downsized version of the 1.6-litre Fiat Multi-Jet unit. Both manual and automatic variants will be on offer.

Suzuki also revealed that the iM-4 concept will also get a four-wheel drive system. However, it is quite early to comment whether the production-spec YBA will be offered with the 4WD system. While the Suzuki iK-2 compact SUV will rival against the likes of Hyundai i20 Elite, Volkswagen Polo and soon-to-be launched Honda Jazz. It will be positioned above the Swift hatchback and will be the company’s maiden entry in the premium hatchback segment.
