Suzuki Vitara (Hyundai Creta Challenger) – When It Will Launch In India?

In India, the new Suzuki Vitara will take on the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500.

Suzuki’s flagship SUV – Vitara – will receive a mid-life facelift later this year. Recently, the Japanese carmaker unveiled the SUV for the international market. The facelifted version of the SUV will be called Suzuki Vitara Series II in select markets such as Australia. Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its SUV portfolio in India with the new Vitara SUV.

While there is no official word about its India launch, the new Suzuki Vitara has been spotted testing multiple times in the country. The recent sighting also confirms the launch rumours. If media reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Suzuki Vitara will hit our roads sometime next year. In India, it will face challenge from the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500.

The new Suzuki Vitara measures 4.2metres in length, and features new front grille with chrome finished vertical slats, revised bumper, new lower air intake design with a rador sensor for AEB (automatic emergency braking), new LED DRLs, newly-designed alloy wheel and revised taillamps. Read: Maruti Suzuki Vitara – 6 Interesting Facts

As of now, the interior details of the new Suzuki Vitara are scanty. Though, it is likely to get updated MID unit, new sport upholstery, infotainment system with software upgrades, redesigned instrument cluster and dashboard with better material quality. Globally, the new Suzuki Vitara will be offered with two new turbocharged petrol engines – 1.0L and 1.4L – replacing the old 1.6L motor. While the smaller capacity unit pushes out 110bhp, the 1.4L powertrain delivers 140bhp. The updated SUV carline will not be available with diesel engine option.
