Suzuki Motorcycle India has showcased the all-new Katana motorcycle at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020 alongside the BS6-compliant motorcycle range. The bike was first previewed at the 2018 Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany. The Suzuki Katana pays homage to the original Katana from the 1980s and 1990s popular sport touring motorcycles.

For power, the 2020 Suzuki Katana uses a 999cc, in-line, 4-cylinder engine dishing out a maximum power of 147bhp at 10,000rpm and 105Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Suzuki GSX-S1000F. In fact, the Katana shares its platform with the GSX-S100F. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed constant mesh.

Suzuki Katana Specs

The overall length, width and height of the Suzuki Katana stand at 2130mm, 835mm and 1110mm respectively. The bike has a wheelbase of 1460mm and a ground clearance of 140mm. It offers a seat height of 825mm. The Katana comes with a fuel tank capacity of 12L and carries a kerb weight of 215kg.

The suspension system of the Katana comprises of a fully adjustable inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil damped upfront and a link type, coil spring, oil damped unit at the rear.

The bike derives its stopping power from front (twin) and rear disc brakes with radial callipers and ABS. The Katana also features squar-ish LED headlight a full-colour TFT screen.
