Suzuki Gixxer To Celebrate 100th Anniversary With New Colours

Suzuki Motorcycle India has confirmed that its highly popular Gixxer series will soon receive new colour schemes. The new colour models will celebrate the range’s 100th anniversary in the country. At present, the Suzuki Gixxer portfolio includes four models – Gixxer (naked), Gixxer SF (fully-faired), Gixxer 250 (naked), Gixxer SF 250 (fully-faired). As of now, there is no clarity whether all these models will get new special paint schemes or the select ones.

At present, the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF come in three colour options, namely, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver and Metallic Triton Blue. While the Gixxer 250 is available in two dual-tone shades (Metallic Matte Silver/Metallic Matte Black), the Gixxer SF 250 can be had in three different colours (Metallic Matte Platinum Silver, Metallic Matte Black and Racing Blue).

The smaller Gixxer models derive power from the BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine boosted with fuel injection technology. The motor pushes out a peak power of 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm of torque. For performing transmission duties, the bikes have a 5-speed gearbox. The bigger Gixxer bikes are powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that’s good for 26.5bhp and 22.2Nm.

Recently, the bikemaker increased prices of the updated Gixxer SF, Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition. Now, the Gixxer SF is available at Rs 1.13 lakh and the other two model cost Rs 1.76 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The new colour models might witness a marginal price hike.

In other news, Suzuki recently released a teaser of its new upcoming motorcycle that will hit roads on 7th October, 2020. While the company hasn’t yet revealed the name and details of the model, it’s likely to be the Suzuki Intruder 250 cruiser motorcycle. The Intruder 250 is reported to come with the 249cc, oil-cooled SOHC FI engine that does duty in the Gixxer 250.
