Japanese two-wheeler maker has officially launched the much-anticipated Gixxer SF 250 in the Indian two-wheeler market. The new Gixxer 250cc motorcycle directly rivals the Honda CBR250 and the Yamaha Fazer 250. The new motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Interested buyers can pre-book the new Gixxer SF 250 at a token amount of Rs 10,000. It is available in 2 colour options – Metallic Matte Platinum Silver and Metallic Matte Black.

In terms of styling, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 comes with a sharply-designed fairing with exposed engine casing. It features angularly designed headlight, which is also an LED unit. The motorcycle comes equipped with raised clip-on handlebars, multi-spoke alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish, a full LCD instrument console and the dual-exit exhaust outlet. The Gixxer SF 250 gets split seats, which should offer a sporty yet comfortable riding position. Some of the design highlights include the sharp grooves on the fuel tank for better grip. The design is very similar to the smaller Gixxer 150.

Powering the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is the new 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected, SOHC engine. This engine is capable of producing 26bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is claimed to return around 38kmpl of mileage.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is built on the thoroughly modified version of the Gixxer 155. It has a kerb weight of 161kg. For suspension mechanism comprise of telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The braking system is equipped with dual-disc brakes and a dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard. The Gixxer SF 250 has a fuel tank capacity of 12-litres.

The new motorcycle looks bigger and bolder than the SF 155. In fact, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 design is inspired by bigger Suzuki bikes and looks sportier than the Fazer 25. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 gets a double barrel exhaust finished in chrome. The motorcycle rides on 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110/70 section tyre, while the rear wheel shod with 150/60 section tyre. The motorcycle gets split seat with grab rail for the pillion seat. In terms of proportions, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is 2,010mm in length, 740mm in width and 1,035mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,345mm. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 165mm, while the seat height stands at 800mm.
