The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is expected to make its India debut at a dealer conference in January 2019.

We informed you earlier that the new Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be launched in the first half of 2019. If latest media report is to be believed, the upcoming Gixxer 250 model will make its debut next month at a dealer conference.

The report claims that the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019. Previous reports claim that the motorcycle will be launched in April 2019. The India-specific model is likely to share design cues from the Suzuki GSX-S750 and the Haojue DR-300. We believe that the India-spec model will be a mature version of the existing Gixxer range.

Suzuki will follow the Yamaha’s strategy and will first launch the naked streetfighter version, which will be later followed by a fully-faired SF variant. While the naked model will challenge the Yamaha FZ25, the faired model will take on the Fazer 25. The new motorcycles will come equipped with LED headlight and tail-light and all-digital instrument console.

The India-specific Gixxer 250 will share the same platform that underpins the smaller sibling, though the frame will be strengthened to handle the bigger engine. It is expected to be powered by an all-new 250cc, single-cylinder DOHC engine with 4-valve head and oil-cooling. It is likely to produce around 22-25bhp of power and close to 20Nm of torque.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will get ABS as standard. It is still unclear whether Suzuki will go with single- or a dual-channel ABS system. The motorcycle will receive disc brakes at both the ends, while suspension mechanism will comprise of telescopic forks at the front and monoshock unit at the rear. The motorcycle is likely to be priced around Rs 1.50 lakh.
