Equipped with innovative technologies, the new Suzuki Hayate EP will make its public debut at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

Suzuki Motorcycle India, fully owned subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Suzuki, has announced an all-new Hayate EP for the Indian two-wheeler market. The bike is claimed to be equipped with innovative technologies. Scheduled to make its public debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the Hayate EP will go on sale in the country later this year.

With updated model, Suzuki aims to secure some chunk of the commuter segment which is currently dominated by Hero MotoCorp and Honda 2Wheelers India. The new Suzuki Hayate EP is equipped with Suzuki’s edgeSEP (Suzuki’s Eco Performance) technology. This technology comprises of Super Sleek Piston, low friction cylinder, high-ignition spark plug and piston rings. The company claims that this technology will help in achieving improved combustion, reduced friction, high compression ration and reduction in weight. It is expected that the new model will offer improved pick-up along with enhanced fuel efficiency.
The 2016 Hayate EP features a longer seat that ensures comfortable ride for both rider and pillion. Based on a brand new diamond frame, the bike comes with long wheelbase and offers comfort without compromising on stability. Talking about features, the new model comes equipped with a maintenance-free battery, 5-step adjustable rear shock absorbers and tubeless tyres. To keep things fresh in the market, Suzuki has added prominent lines on the fuel tank and tail of the bike. It also gets sporty mirrors and new body graphics. The new Hayate EP will be offered with three paint jobs- Metallic Oort Grey, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mira Red.
The Suzuki Hayate EP is powered by 113cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 8.3bhp of power at 7,500rpm along with 8.8Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This engine is paired to a four-speed gearbox.
Speaking on new Hayate EP, Mr. Masayoshi Ito, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), said “The all new Suzuki Hayate EP appeals to every modern Indian rider. Our engineers and designers have worked very hard to give the Hayate EP superior fuel efficiency without compromising on pick-up. Added to that, the unmatched riding comfort of the Hayate EP makes it an ideal ride for daily commuters. We are confident that the new Hayate EP will be very well received in the market.”
The new model is yet to be launched in the country, and the exact pricing detail of the bike is likely to be announced during its unveiling at Delhi Auto Expo. We expect it to be priced around INR 50,000 to INR 55,000.
The new bike will officially make its public debut at the forthcoming Delhi Auto Expo. The bike will go on sale in February or March, 2016.
The new model is claimed to be more fuel efficient than the existing one. We expect that the new model will return close to 80kmpl of mileage.
