The Suzuki Baleno Sport model will receive sporty body kit and revised interior.
Japanese automaker, Suzuki has recently unveiled the new Ertiga Sport model in the Indonesian market. A new media report claims that the company is also working on the sportier version of the Baleno hatchback. For people not in the know, Suzuki Indonesia had showcased the two sporty concepts based on the Ertiga MPV and the Baleno hatchback last year.
The company had showcased the Suzuki Baleno Sport variant at the 2018 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show). This model was equipped with all-black look, with a contrasting red side skirts and front and rear bumpers. The new Baleno Sport model rides on all-new alloy wheels shod with low-profile tyres. The Baleno RS currently on sale in India features the standard 195/55 R16.
The report further claims that the Suzuki Baleno Sport model will be based on the facelift versions of the Baleno and the Baleno RS. The facelifted models were launched in the Indian market earlier this year. It is expected that the new Sport model will get new front bumper design with revised fog lamp enclosure, new LED headlamps and revised grille.
The cabin is also expected to be revised with new upholstery for seats and steering. It will also receive the new Suzuki SmartPlay Studio 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is expected that the Suzuki Baleno Sport won’t receive any mechanical changes. The Indonesian-spec Baleno is powered by a 92bhp, 1.4-litre petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
