At the ongoing 2014 Beijing Auto Show, Suzuki has unveiled the Alivio mid-sized sedan. It is the same model which was unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo as the Maruti Ciaz. The vehicle showcased looks quite closer to its production, and we expect the similar design will carryover on the Indian model.

It will be launched in the Indian car market by the festive season and will replace the current generation SX4 sedan. Suzuki also confirmed that the Alivio will get the 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder petrol engine which is coupled to a newly developed six-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
The Indian model will also be offered in diesel version. It is expected to get 1.3-litre Multi-jet engine; however, media reports suggest that the sedan will get the 1.6-litre Multi-jet engine. Both engines will be coupled to a five speed manual transmission gearbox; the company will also introduce the AMT (automated manual transmission) version.
This new C segment sedan shares most of its design cues with the Suzuki Authentics concept that was showcased at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. The Suzuki Alivio measures 4,545mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,475mm of height, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,650mm.
