Skoda Auto has announced the launch of Rapid Monte Carlo edition in the Indian market. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo is priced at Rs 11.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). This edition is available in 4 variants – 1.6 MPI petrol manual, petrol Automatic, 1.5 TDI CR diesel manual and 1.5 TDI CR diesel automatic – priced between Rs 11.16 lakh and Rs 14.25 lakh.

The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo comes with a range of ‘Simply Clever’ details that enhance the driving experience. It is available across all authorised Skoda dealership in the country in exclusive Flash Red colour scheme.

Speaking on the launch of the new Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo, Mr. Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service, and Marketing, ŠKODA AUTO India Pvt Ltd said, “We are glad to re-introduce the Monte Carlo marque in India. The RAPID Monte Carlo offers a compelling combination of the brand’s emotive design, exquisite interiors, leading safety as well as intelligent connectivity features. In terms of styling, the Rapid Monte Carlo gets black Skoda signature grille, gloss black mirrors and quartz-cut projector headlights with chrome eyelashes and LED DRLs. The sedan gets blackened treatment, which gives it a sporty profile. It gets dual-tone 16-inch Clubber alloys with glossy black bolt covers, glossy black decor on the D-pillars with MONTE CARLO flag badge, black roof foil, black tailgate spoiler and the black grained sporty diffuser.

The interiors of the RAPID Monte Carlo pays tribute to ŠKODA’s Motorsport heritage. It features a 3-spoke SuperSport flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel and the gear knob wrapped in black perforated leather with contrasting red stitching. The seats are wrapped in Monte Carlo leather upholstery with grey vertical strips. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo is equipped with a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. It also supports AUX-in, USB and Bluetooth options. It features climatronic air conditioning with adjustable dual rear AC vents, rain sensing wiper, built-in cruise control, height and length adjustable steering wheel, adjustable headrests and foldable armrests, tinted windows and windscreen, rear view camera, etc.

In terms of safety and security, the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, five 3-point seatbelts, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) in DSG variant and Hill Hold Control in automatic petrol and diesel variants. The Rapid Monte Carlo offers impressive 460-litres of boot space along with other intelligent storage solutions like cooled glove box, a black waste bin for the front door pocket, and storage under the front centre armrest and cup holders.

The Rapid Monte Carlo is available with 2 engine options – 1.5-litre TDI diesel and 1.6-litre MPI petrol. While the former is capable of producing 108bhp of power and 250Nm of torque, the petrol engine produces 103bhp and 153Nm of torque. The diesel manual and automatic offers 21.13kmpl and 21.72kmpl respectively, while petrol returns 15.41kmpl in manual mode and 14.84kmpl in automatic mode.
